The fi rst Hounds of Hanna K and Fun run event was held at Hanna Park on Saturday, November 19th. The 5K was a race for runners and walkers of all age groups. Participants were encouraged to run or walk with their pets. All proceeds will go to Clifford's Army Rescue Extravaganza to save neglected and abused animals. Jeff Melton photo The Glam Gala, hosted by The Rogers Theater Project Inc, on Saturday, Decem- ber 3 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., will be a night of fun, friends, and phi- lanthropy. There will be food, drinks, and a silent auction with phenom- enal items to bid on. Join them at Spin- ning Leaf North Lake, at 1200 N Washing- ton St, Shelby, where like-minded people will come together for the evening to get to know one another, enjoy the holiday season, and celebrate breathing life back into one of Shel- by's most iconic build- ings. There will be best dressed competitions, a little theater trivia, great music, and we've got a few little surprises planned. Capacity is limited and tickets will set out quickly, so don't wait! The dress code is ele- gant glam! One hundred percent of proceeds go directly towards the restoration, redevelop- ment, and preservation of The Rogers Theater of Shelby, NC, a reg- istered North Carolina nonprofit organization.
