Katie was born Tuesday, March 15, 1949 in Rutherford County to the late Otis Greenlee and Francis Clayton Greenlee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Champion, Sr.; a grandson; and a long- time companion. Left to cherish fond mem- ories are her children, Jeff Champion of Cliffside, Maria Hudson (Grady) of Ellenboro, Steve Champion, Jr. (Dannielle) of Ellenboro and Mark Champion (Crystal) of Ellenboro; sister, Doris Matheney of Rutherfordton; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Born in Gastonia, NC, he was the husband of Sherry Lynn Nolan Walker and the son of Dennis Edward Walker and the late Mary Davis Walker. Surviving Mr. Walker are his wife, Sherry Nolan Walker; his father, Dennis Edward Walker; DANNY EDWIN MARTIN Danny Edwin Martin, 71, of Shelby, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late James and Anna Belle Wood Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tony Goins; two brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Norma Thrift Martin of the home; daughters, Tammie Gantt, Tonda Weeks and Dana Agnew and husband Earl; sister, Karen Fox; broth- er, Benny Martin, all of Shelby; ten grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren. John was born on June 13, 1946 in Lincoln County, NC, a son of the late Harry E. Arthur, Sr. and Vevette Wehunt two sons, Dennis Edward Walker (Jessica) and Prentice Nolan (Erica); two daughters, Sierra Dawn Walker (Cody Cagle) and Kimberly Lynn Nolan Wilson (Tony); three sisters, Teresa Lynn Nolan (John), Mary Walker (Clayton Maldonado), and Elizabeth Guiton (Scott); three brothers, Thomas L. Walker, Everette Carlos Walker, and John Boy; and eight grandchildren. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jenette Davis Walker. Graveside Services were held November 10, 2022 in The Walker Family Cemetery, Blacksburg, SC. DANIEL JONES Daniel Jones, 67, of Blacksburg, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022. Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was the husband of Gwendolyn Sharpe Jones and the son of the late Daniel and Ruth Fryer Jones. Mr. Jones served our coun- try in the U.S. Army. In addition to his wife, surviving Mr. Jones are four chil- dren; Phillip Jones, Jonica Sharpe (Tennesia), Jamaal Sharpe (Deandra), Janeeka Miller (Mitchell); four sisters; Margaret Swindler, Mary Jones, Pauleth Griffin; eight grandchildren; Jeremiah Sims, Jamaria Sharpe, Jamaal Sharpe Jr., Ja'Zaria Sharpe, Ja'Noah Sharpe, Jancsi Miller, Janos Miller, Logan Jones; and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held November 12th, 2022 at Youngs Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Larry J. Brooks pre- siding. Interment was in the church cemetery. Arthur.
