Born in Cleveland County on September 3, 1928, she was a daughter of the late William J. Rainey and Mamie Gorman Rainey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, V.Q. Lanier, an infant brother, and three sisters, Cecile R. Browning, Aileen R. Brooks, and Mayo R. Younts. She is survived by her son, Terry Lanier and wife Kathy of Shelby, two grandchildren, and one great grandson. A Graveside service was held October 14, 2022 at Cleveland Memorial Park with Rev. ANNIE JOLLEY RANDOLPH Annie Jolley Randolph, 92, Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 15, 2022. Born in Mooresboro, she was the widow of the late James Lynn Randolph and the daughter of the late George Dever Jolley, Sr. and Rosie McCraw Jolley. Surviving is a son, Ken DAVID CARROLL BLANTON David Carroll Blanton, 75, native of Cleveland County, NC, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022. He is predeceased by his spouse, Jimmie L. Blanton; and father, John A. Blanton, Jr. David leaves to cherish his memories his daugh- ters, Sherri Lowery and husband, Shawn Lowery of Blacksburg, SC and Wendy Dendy of Fallston, NC; mother, Francis D. Blanton of Pennsylvania; five grand- children; two great-grand- children; and sister, Tina and husband Lou DeRobertis of Pennsylvania. He is survived by a son, Donald Christopher Powell (Barbara) of Kings Mountain, NC, four stepchildren, Rick Stroup (Julie) of Shelby, NC, Scott Stroup (Ann) of Kings Mountain, NC, Donna Robinson of Mocksville, NC, and Shanon Ricketts (Fred) of Old Fort, NC, a granddaughter, thirteen step grandchildren, two sisters, Wanda Hamrick (Hal) of Lattimore, NC, and Cathy Stroup (Dean) of Shelby, NC. Born July 5, 1952 in Randolph (Suzanne) of Roanoke, VA; a daughter, Kimberly McDowell (Tony) of Spartanburg; a brother, George Jolley, Jr. (Rae) of Mooresboro; a sister, Laladge Jolley Moss of Earl; seven grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Jerry Ruppe of Mooresboro; a son-in-law, David Fuller of Spartanburg; and numerous great-grand- children. Mrs. Randolph was pre- ceded in death by a daugh- ter, Lynn Fuller; and three sisters, Shirley Martin, Joyce Jolley and Flora Ruppe. Beheler, 73, of Grover, NC, passed away on October 15, 2022. Born in Rutherford, NC, he was born of the late George Beheler and Margaret Alice "Edna" Propst Bridges and was also preceded in death by son, James "Bo" Beheler; daughter, Renea Thomas; step-son, Tony Earl Taylor; and brother, Ronald Beheler. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Bruce Edward Walker. PAUL CARPENTER WYLIE Paul Carpenter Wylie, 87, of Shelby, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 13th, 2022. Paul was born in Blacksburg, SC on December 21st, 1934, to parents Robert E. Wylie and Pauline "Polly" Wylie. Mr. Wylie served our coun- try in the US. Army. Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Daisy; son, Chris; parents Robert and Pauline Wylie; and brothers John and Robert. He is survived by his son, Todd; three grandchildren; and two brothers Alvin and Ray Wylie. Services were held October 19th, 2022 in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church downtown Shelby.
