James was born Wednesday, July 22, 1942 in Rutherford County to the late Arthur Kermit Ammons and Annie Sue Ferguson Ammons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kermit Wayne "Buck" Ammons, Richard Ammons and a sister, Carol Thompson. Left to cherish fond mem- ories are his wife, Betty Martin Ammons; daughter, Amy Marie Metcalf (Roger) of Union Mills; son, Richard Ammons of Spindale; step- children, Barbara Turner of Gaffney, Debra Hughey (Roger) of Gaffney, Kelly Peeler of Spartanburg, Kevin Martin of Gaffney; two sis- ters, Carrie Jane Ammons of Spindale and Brenda Mills (Gary) of the Oakland Community; and numerous grand and great grandchil- dren. The funeral service was held October 10, 2022 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Shane Adkins officiating. Interment followed in the Centennial Cemetery. He was born in Akron, OH on November 6, 1935 and grew up in Brevard, NC. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Mark and Nancy Osborne; and his sister, Carolyn Darst. Marty is survived by his wife, Ruth Dellinger Osborne; sons, David Osborne and wife Gayle and Chris Osborne and wife Gail; daughter, Donna Almand and husband Paul; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. ELIZABETH ANN BRYSON WILLIAMS Mrs. Elizabeth "Beth" Ann Bryson Williams, 49, of Kings Mountain, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022. Beth was born on October 7, 1973 in Lincoln County, NC, and was a daughter of Ronnie Eugene Philbeck and the late Carolyn Brittain Philbeck. Survivors in addition to her father include her hus- band, David Williams of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Amber Marie Bryson (Josh Bolding) and Taylor Dawn Williams; a sister, Tammy Bryson Glover of Cherryville; and three grandchildren. Born in Charleston, WV, she was the widow of Walter Seth SCOTT EDWARD KOWALSKI Scott Edward Kowalski, 67, of Hickory, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Born in Monroe County, NY on August 5, 1955, he was a son of Carl Edward Kowalski and Marjorie Jean Duell Kowalski. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Keith Kowalski and grandmother. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Lynne Marie Farmer Kowalski; one son, Jason Kowalski of Pine Mountain; one brother, Blake Kowalski of Rochester, NY; one sister, Marcal Kowalski- Smith and Patrice Calcagno of Rochester, NY; brother- in-law, Lawrence Farmer of California; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Farmer Young of Gastonia. LYNN BRADLEY McLAIN Lynn Bradley McClain, age 51, of Ellenboro, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Lynn was born Saturday, July 24, 1971 in Cleveland County to Cathy Bradley of Forest City and the late Dewey Bradley. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Bradley and mother-in-law, Bonnie McClain. Besides her mother, those left to cherish her memory Patterson and the daughter of the late Jacob Good and Bessie Crowder Good. Surviving Mrs. Patterson are her sons, Paul Franklin Carpenter, Derek Lee Patterson, Timothy Seth Patterson, and wife, Wendy; her daughters, Paula Faye Tuttle and husband, Joey, Tina Marie Carpenter, Andrea Reynolds and husband, Johnny, Monta Risa Call and husband, Doug; step-daugh- ters, Judy Cook and Tammy Helms; her sisters, Sheila Kinison, Marlene Lucas, and Betty Slawter; sixteen addi- tional half-brothers and half- sisters; twenty grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and counting. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her daughter, Trenda Jean Carpenter; her step-son, Keith Patterson; her step- daughters, Gail Walker and Angie Patterson; her broth- ers, Harlen, Gordon, and Buck Good; and her sister, Wanda Mitchell.
