"For a solid two years, there were times when I was putting in more time on 'The Big Splash Project' than I was putting in at my full-time job," Miranda said. As a result of her tireless work, she has since become a Park's Commissioner for The City of Red Bluff. Miranda said many community members have a big investment in this project. "They've made donations, attended events and fundraisers and so many people feel they have an investment into the project. We have all advocated for the park, to renovate it, to find an alternative location for the homeless to be and in creating an asset that improves our community." She said, "This is more than just a park, it's creating opportunities for families to have a place to take their kids, it creates an opportunity for early intervention, spending time as a family, improving property values in our community and giving families a reason to want to come to Red Bluff to visit or perhaps to move here." Through extensive research, she, her husband Tyler and their son Preston have been to dozens of parks and splash parks collecting ideas, inspiration and dreams. She became involved with the idea of the splash park, because first and foremost, she's a mom. Her son has a physical disability that prevents him from climbing or playing safely on most playground equipment. "In taking him to other splash parks in Northern California, Oregon and Southern California, my husband and I realized that other children with special needs
