Born in Cleveland County on March 29, 1936, she was preceded in death by her par- ents James "Jim" Matthew Weatherford and Viola Atkinson Weatherford as well as all of her siblings: including six brothers, Hallie, Leslie, Wilbert, Glease, Charles, and Buddy Weatherford; five sis- ters, Gladys Mode, Margaret Peeler, Lois Swink, Frances Perry and infant, Molly; and her special brother and sis- ters-in-law. She is survived by her hus- band, Billy A Pruett; a son, Rev. Doug Pruett (Donna) of Casar; and two daughters, Lisa Larsen (Kevin) and Jan Crow (Marion), of Polkville; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bumgardner was pre- ceded in death by her hus- band, Lee Roy Bumgardner; her son, Dennis Owen Bumgardner and her daugh- ter, Myra Bumgardner Walker. She is survived by two sons, Harvey Bumgardner (Sandy) and Charles Bumgardner (Tonya); eight grandchildren; her only great-grandson; and her sister, Marie Brittain Peters. William "Whitey" Splawn, Ret., age 77, of Mooresboro, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022. Whitey was born Friday, January 19, 1945 in Rutherford County to the late Shuford Splawn and Lennie Brown Splawn. SMsgt. Splawn served our country in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Eloise Gunter, Martha Melton, Norma Hopper, Sally Oakes, Dorean Westbrook and three brothers, Herbert, Eugene and Gerald Splawn. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Reverend Billy Bowen and Hazel Blanton Bowen. Paul was also preceded in death by a brother, David Bowen, and his brother-in- law, Perry Nolen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Billy Brady, Jr. and one brother, Dennis Brady. Brant JOHN NELSON GABRIEL CARROLL John Nelson Gabriel Carroll, 42, of Bessemer City, passed away on September 23, 2022. He was born May 18, 1980, in Cleveland County, son of George Nelson Carroll Jr. and the late Carolyn Dixon Carroll. DAMON EMIL FIELDS Damon Emil Fields, age 39, of Cherryville, passed away on September 30, 2022. He was born November 5, 1982 in New Hanover County to Brian Fields and the late Carole Putnam Fields. Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his mother, Carole Putnam Fields. Survivors include his father, Brian Fields of Wilmington, NC; sister, Kim Bivins (Ray) of Lawndale; brothers, Scott Carpenter, Deaver Carpenter both of Shelby, and Chris Carpenter (Shelby) of Kernersville. Born in Cleveland County on January 30, 1931, he was the son of the late Wray Greene and Jessie Greene. He was a lifelong resident of Upper Cleveland County. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean McFarland Greene; a son, John Max Greene, Jr.; a daughter, Gina Greene; and two broth- ers, Jake Greene and Ray Greene. He is survived by his step- son, Randy Warlick (Deedee) of Ocean Isle Beach; four grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and sister-in- law, Jackie Greene of Shelby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Edwin Jones; brother, A.C. Crotts and two sisters, Willard Walker and Carol Crotts. In addition to her par- ents and step-parents, Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her daughter, Skylar McDaniel; her twin sister, Lindzey Pennington (Jeremy), her sis- ters, Taylor Norman (Austin), Izabella Norman, Megan and Pamela Truelove, Liberty and Sofia; her grandparents; her great-grandmother; and her mother-in-law, Angela Kirby (Tony).
