Jim Koury is a seeker of personal truth, and desires to empower oth- ers to find their own personal truth, whatever it may be. He is also an ac vist who is not afraid to speak his mind, and ruffle some feath- ers, if necessary. His main objec ve is to get people to think and think for themselves. He espouses Aristotle's mantra, "It is the mark of an educated mind to en- tertain a thought without accep ng it." Jim does not force his views on others but just puts them out there for folks to think about and discard if they wish. Welcome to the October issue of Diversity Rules Magazine. It is hard to believe we are in the thick of fall already! The me is flying by! That means we are all the closer to Elec on Day! We all need to get out and vote on November 8th! This month's feature is Kris ne W. Kris ne W is push- ing dance floors forward this Fall with her new single, "Can't Look Back," the first release from her upcoming album. Produced by James Hurr, one of the masters of UK House, the song is a lush, soulful club groove, made even more powerful with its message of ris- ing up and apprecia ng the day. It was inspired by the passing of Kris ne's mother. "Though she faced unbearable loss during her life me, my mother was a perpetual op mist," Kris ne explains. "She never wallowed in pain from the past. She chose to forge ahead, holding ghtly to hope, faithful in her belief that tomorrow would be a brighter day." Kris ne W's "Can't Look Back" is being distributed globally through The Orchard and became available Septem- ber 16. Kris ne W wrote "Can't Look Back" with Mark Mat- son and Tony Moran, but is convinced that her moth- er helped in its crea on, too. "Mom's spirit is so much a part of the lyrics of this single. I really feel like she was holding the pen on this one." As one who believes that those who go before us are always with us, I can certainly relate to Kris ne's sen- ments that her mom was with her when she wrote the song. This month's issue also features the regulars you have enjoyed in the past. There are also some new features, and ar cles of interest, as well. I try to al- ways include a wide range of topics and ar cles that appeal to a broad swath of readers. Take what you want and leave the rest, I guess, right? As I men oned in the first paragraph, Elec on Day, November 8th, will be here sooner than we know. This Midterm Elec on is probably one of, if not the most important, elec ons facing our na on. It is a choice between giving Republcans theocra c con- trol over our government, or turning the vile people back, and returning our na on to fulfillilng its inter- ent purpose. Most importantly, while the economy is on the minds of many, we must get Roe codified. We can only do that by elec ng more Democrats to office. I hope more agree than not. Be engaged, and whatever you do, do NOT forget to vote or decide to stay home. We need each and every one of you to vote against the Republican scourge that plagues our great na on. Be well, be aware, and treat each other with kind- ness. We need it now more than ever. See you in November! My Two Cents A Message From The Editor James R.
