She was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina, June 14, 1942 to the late Robert Miller Forsythe and Ida Bell Neal Forsythe. She is preceded in death by two brothers, William Robert Forsythe and Miller Baxter Forsythe. Shirley is survived by her husband, Bill Williams; three children, Terry Peterson of the home, Wendy Whitaker and her husband Steven of Blacksburg, SC, and Michael Peterson of King's Mountain; her sister, Mary Patricia Barrett of Shelby; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held September 10, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church, Shelby, NC with Dr. Barry Goodman offering words of encour- agement. Burial followed at Cleveland Memorial Park.
