She was born October 26, 1939 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Melvin Holland and the late Pansey Watts Holland. She is survived by four daughters: Mary Collins, Sherry Dato and her husband Darryl, Annette Coblentz and Kanisha Goode; one son, Billy Goode; one broth- er, Paul Holland; and sixteen grandchildren and twenty- eight great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Dean Hames and three chil- dren: Kathy Goode, Bobby Goode and Scott Goode. A memorial service was held September 3, 2022 in the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, NC with family speaker Kathi Lovelace Goode officiating. LINDA LEE HOYLE WILLIS Linda Lee Hoyle Willis, 79, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 in Shelby, NC. Born in Cleveland County on November 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Luther Raymond Hoyle and Hattie Lee Abernathy Hoyle. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her step-mother, Myrtle Hoyle, four brothers, Gene, Bill, Coleman, Don and Dale Hoyle, as well as her two sisters, Joann Lovelace and Margie Vess. She is survived by her three children, David Hoyle, Danny Hoyle, and Bobby Hoyle (Aleksandra); eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and four sisters, Ann Hord, Janet (Michael) Helms, Kathy Weaver and Sue Thornburg. A funeral service was held August 31, 2022 at Buffalo Baptist Church with Rev. Dustin Mace and Rev. Macky Turner officiating the service. Burial follow in the church cemetery. Hoskins, 73, of Shelby, NC, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022. He was born and raised in Southern California to Orville and Ruth Hoskins. Mr. Hoskins served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War era. Harlan was pre- ceded in death by his father, Orville E. Hoskins; mother, Ruth Mary Hoskins; and brother, Howard. He is survived by wife, Suzi; his son, Jeremiah (wife Jen) a grandson; brothers Darcy (wife Joni), Darrell (partner Alexandria), Will (wife Kim); and brothers and sisters of his wife, Suzi: Verle, Fleet (wife Patricia), Jeanne (husband Charles), Beth, Bart (wife Caiti), and Lori (husband Roger). Danny was born September 7, 1951 in Shelby to the late Howard Hatcher Glover and Pauline Izzi Glover. He is survived by his wife, Candy Camp Glover; two children: Matthew Glover and Danielle Glover; broth- er, Tommy Glover and his wife, Teressa, brother-in-law, Brian Camp and his wife, Shana and sister-in-law, Vickie and her husband, Jack. Lastly, he leaves behind; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held August 29, 2022 at Souls Harbor Tabernacle, Mooresboro, NC. Rev. RIETA LATCH MAXWELL Rieta Latch Maxwell, 94, of Shelby, NC passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022. Born on May 3, 1928 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Maria Van-Der Vies Latch and the Reverend Edward G. Latch. Rieta was predeceased by her husband, Dallas Sutton Maxwell, Sr., a brother, Edward G. Latch, Jr., and her son-in-law, W. Robinson Deaton, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Ann M. Deaton of Asheville, NC (formerly of Shelby), Judy McCoy of Montgomery, IL, and Dallas Sutton Maxwell, Jr., of Myrtle Beach, SC; and six grand- children and eight great- grandchildren. The family will receive friends to honor the life of Mrs. Maxwell Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home from 11:00AM - 12:00PM with closing words of remem- brance at 12PM. Burial will 6, 1945 in White County, TN. Mr. Franks served our country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Judith Hamrick Franks, of Shelby; sister, Sue Lewis (husband, Robert) of McMinnville, TN; daughters, Tammy Brooks (husband, Tony) of Shelby, and Tiffany Stewart (hus- band, Tim) of Mt. Holly; five grandchildren; brother-in- law, Paul Reed, of Marshall; and sister-in-law, Pat Starley (husband, Cecil) of Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Doughty Lee Franks and Mattie Luna Franks; and siblings, Martha Ralston, Rilda Hudson, Elise Haston, Jimmy Dale Franks, and Terry Franks.
