According to a spokesperson, the group would cover Cleveland County, letting homemakers, working women and retirees know there is a group of women who; "…offer the opportunity to meet other local women with the purpose of service and support to our community and by encouraging the betterment of its members through sharing and giving." They support: Abuse Prevention Council, Children's Homes of Cleveland County, Habitat for Humanity, Hospice of Cleveland County, Life Enrichment Center, Shelby K-9 Corps and deliver Christmas Gift Bags to a chosen local nursing home each year. These groups are supported through our reasonably low membership dues of $20 per year and other donations. They will be having a "New Member" recruitment on Thursday Sept. 8, at Showmars Restaurant, 1500 E. Dixon Blvd., Shelby, beginning at 11 a.m. Prospective new members will receive a reduction off their food purchase courtesy of Welcome Wagon.
