The Char- gers squad is all sopho- mores and freshmen. At number one singles Eli Arnold lost to Tecum- seh senior Dax Bailey 6-3, 6-1. Charger Nate Car ter, playing number two singles, fell 6-1,6-0. The number one dou- bles team of Adon Le- mond and JJ Belmore lost 6-4, 6-2 to DJ. Dupont and Landon Oxley, while Char- gers Kaden Engler t and Ethan Mann were beat- en by Kyle Jackson and Grant Yager at number two doubles. Charger golf shoots best score of the year By Andy Heuring Press-Dispatch Sports sports@pressdispatch.net Pike Central's girls golf team shot their best score of the year with a 206 at Country Oaks on Tuesday. The girls' scores were tightly packed with only four strokes from top to bottom. Brailey Mills posted a 50, while Chloe Williams and Grace Goodpaster both shot 51s and Mabry Shoultz shot a 54. Coun- try Oaks is one of the more difficult courses in the area and will host the Pocket Athletic Conference on Saturday. Barr Reeve won the match with a 188. Washing- ton tied Pike Central with a 206. Coach Jarrod Gideon said neither Pike Central or Washington had a fifth player to break the tie. Pike Central's record is 4-5-1 so far this year.
