A-6 Wednesday, August 31, 2022 The Press-Dispatch EDWARD LEE BOWLING Edward Lee Bowling, 89, of Petersburg, passed away Sun- day, August 28, 2022, at Dea- coness Hospital in Evansville. He was born May 27, 1933 to Joseph and Nellie (Swan) Bowling in Daviess County, Indiana. Edward retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20½ years of ser vice, and continued ser ving as a Civil Ser vice fire- man an additional 9½ years at Columbus (MS) Air Force Base. He went on to work for Kimball Tool Pro. He was a member of the Petersburg Moose Lodge and VFW. He is sur vived by sons, Richard Edward Joseph Bowl- ing and Edward Lee Bowling II, grandchildren, Apr yl Leigh Bowling Hill, Holly Elaine Bowling and Theresa Bowling and sister, Margaret Bowling. Preceding him in death are his wife Maleeda in 2019, daughter Linda Renee Mc- Donald, son John Alan Bowl- ing, his parents, and brothers Karl and Jerome Bowling. Funeral ser vices will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with burial to follow at Wilson Creek Cem- eter y. WILLIS Michael "Mike" Allen Wil- lis, 74, of Oakland City, passed away August 17, 2022, at his home with family by his side. He was born in Oakland City March 16, 1948, to the late Hector Forest Willis and Mar y D. (Norrick) Willis. He worked as a welder for 40 years and retired from Creative Craftsman in Evansville. He was an avid fisherman, who en- joyed hunting and camping. He loved the outdoors and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix (most of the time). Some knew him as dad, others knew him as "pops", but everyone knows he will be missed. He is sur vived by his sons, Jody (Michelle) Willis and Branden (Kennedy) Willis; one grandchild and one on the way; sister, "Dee" Loveless; three nephews; and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geor- ganna Willis, in 2015; and two brothers, Raymond Skelton and Forest "Sonny" Willis. A funeral ser vice was at 2 p.m. on Monday, August, 22, 2022, at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home, in Oakland City, with Pastor Gene Burkhart offici- ating. Interment followed at Ashby Cemeter y, in Winslow. CHASIDY RENEE FUHRER Chasidy Renee Fuhrer, 42, of Velpen, passed away August 26, 2022 in Jasper. She was born April 6, 1979 in Princeton. She worked as an Industri- al Cleaner for Frantz Building Ser vices. She is survived by her hus- band, Stephen Fuhrer; son, Dylan Harris; daughter, Ashley (Zach) Smith; a grandson, Con- nor Smith; and all of her Cubs. She is preceded in death by her father, Scott Crume and her brother, Shane Crume. Graveside ser vices will be at 1:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Walnut Hills Cemeter y, in Petersburg. Weisman, 90, of Otwell, passed away at 8:33 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2022, in the Northwood Re- tirement in Jasper. He was born in Boone Township on November 16, 1931, to Frank J. and Emma (Angerer) Weisman. He married Elinor "Dot- ty" Beumer on September 15, 1956, in St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Holland. Services will be at a later date. HAROLD R. DEPUTY Harold Ray Deputy, 92, of Oakland City, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at his home. He was born August 5, 1930, in Fort Branch to the late Paul and Wilma Deputy and had re- sided in the Oakland City com- munity most of his lifetime. He ser ved his countr y during the Korean War as a U. S. Marine. He worked for his father for 25 years at C&D Excavating and then 24 years as a coal miner with Old Ben Coal and was a lifetime farmer. He was a hard working man his whole life and loved his family deeply and will truly be missed by all. He was a member of U.M.W.A. Local #4343, Amer- ican Legion Post #256 in Oak- land City, a founding member of the Gibson County Antique Tractor Assn., an avid antique John Deere collector and went to many tractor shows all over the countr y and enjoyed look- ing at Keen Kutter collections. He enjoyed sporting events, especially those involving his children and grandchildren. He is sur vived by his wife of nearly 65 years, JoAnn (Grant) Deputy, of Oakland City; four sons, Mark Deputy, of Oak- land City, Max (Sharon) Dep- uty, of Francisco, Mitchell Deputy, of Oakland City and Matthew (Sarah) Deputy, of Fort Branch; 11 grandchil- dren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janice Chandler, of Princeton. He was preceded in death by two sons, Marty Joe Dep- uty and Michael Ray Deputy; and several brothers and sis- ters. A funeral ser vice will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Corn-Colvin Fu- neral Home, in Oakland City, with Rev. Matt Malin officiat- ing. Interment will follow at Forsythe Cemeter y near Oak- land City. Militar y rites will be provided by the Oakland City American Legion and the Gib- son County Retired Veterans.
