While Bay Area real estate continues to be some of the most ex- pensive in the country, many home shoppers are making the move to greater Sacramento. With more flexibility due to remote work lifestyles, homebuyers are discov- ering how much more home they can get for their money across Sac- ramento's most popular locations. "Home- buyers realize they can get much greater value than in the Bay Area, which is why we've seen people at every stage of life, including first-time homebuyers at some of our more affordable communities and empty nesters at our amenity- rich active adult master plans." Content provided by Lennar Sacramento What to do with a home office a!er going back to the workplace BY METRO The number of professionals working remotely skyrocketed in 2020, when busi- nesses were forced to close their offices in an effort to slow the spread of the COVID- 19 virus. As the world transitions from the pandemic phase to an endemic phase, many office workers also are transitioning back to their offices. A recent survey from the Pew Research Center found that 59 percent of workers in the United States are now working from home all or most of the time, while 22 percent are rarely or never working from home. In 2020, 70 percent of workers were working from home all or most of the time, while 17 percent rarely or never worked from home. Those figures reflect that work life, al- beit gradually, is return- ing to pre-pandemic norms. As individuals find themselves going back to the office with in- creased frequency, they might be wondering what to do with their home offices. If space inside a home is at a premium, then repur- posing a home office into a space that can be used more frequently is a great way to make better use of the exist- ing square footage. The following are some ways homeowners can transform home offices created during the pan- demic into more useful spaces. See OFFICE Pg 3 H2 BAY AREA NEWS GROUP 001 Homes | Advertising Section
