Born in Washtenaw County, MI, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn J. and Lova Belle Russ Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wilburn J. Myers and Wesley Leo Myers; and a grandson. She is survived by her husband, Jim Bishop of the home; sons, James Bishop of Shelby and Dan Bishop and wife Tessa of Kings Mountain; daughters, Lova Mull and hus- band Kenneth of Shelby, Lisa Marie Queen of Shelby and Jolynn Bishop of Ellenboro; sister, Billie Conroy and hus- band Jamie of Clinton, MI; eight grandchildren and four- teen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held August 13, 2022 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Ogle officiating. Burial fol- lowed in Sunset Cemetery. Born in Cleveland County, NC January 25, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Raymond John Thomas Grover Shalp and Bessie Lee Green Shalp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Shalp and Thomas Shalp and two sisters, Vergie Sanders and Helen Ledbetter. Survivors include her hus- band, Burl Kenneth Martin; two sons, James Cody of Shelby and Kenneth Martin and wife, Angie of Cherryville; three daughters, Jeannie Lail and husband, Thomas of Waco, Innette Sisk and husband, Tony of Bessemer City and Donna Shannon and husband, Ricky of Lincolnton; sister, Linda Shalp of Shelby; and thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchil- dren. A funeral service was held August 16, 2022 at Harvest Time Assembly with Revs. John Johnson and Sheila Grigg officiating. The burial followed the service in the Martin Cemetery. In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband, Lemuel D. Beattie and son, Charles S. Beattie. She is survived by her chil- dren Priscilla D. Fletcher and husband Gerald B. Sipe; daughter-in-law, Desiree Beattie; and eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild.
