www.negociosnow.com 30 Abril 2022 JUAN CARLOS AVILA CREATES HAPPILYFE, AN APPLICATION TO HELP IMPROVE MENTAL WELLNESS. By Juan Carlos Avila D id you know that in the first year of the pandemic, the preva- lence of anxiety and depres- sion grew by a massive 25%, and that now 25% of the world's population suffers from mental illness? We are facing a global mental health crisis that is disproportiona- tely impacting women, young people, and communities of color. Latinos are stru- ggling with increased levels of anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. As Latinos, we are reluctant to seek help, we face barriers to accessing mental health care resources, and we still face cultural stig- ma around mental health. Observing how rising men- tal health issues were affecting those closest to him, Juan Carlos Avila, a Chicago-based entre- preneur and father of three tee- nage girls, created HappiLyfe, a purposeful living app, desig- ned to empower individuals to lead happier lives by facilita- ting balance through focus and access to wellness tools, posi- tive change through reflection, and connectedness through a supportive and healthy com- munity. HappiLyfe allows users to customize their experience and provides them with per- sonal insights. Avila hopes HappiLyfe, "becomes the tool of choice for individuals who wish to achieve happier, more balanced and purposeful lives." Avila adds, "I saw other "successful" emerging lea- ders struggle with a lack of balance. Of greater impor- tance was seeing my teenage daughters struggle emotio- nally and mentally through the pandemic. Watching their struggles really promp- ted me to take action and thus HappiLyfe was born." To celebrate the launch of HappiLyfe, the company will host the first annual 'Hap- piLyfe May Blossoms' Men- tal Health Awareness Month event as the formal launch of HappiLyfe 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm on Thursday, May 12 at technology incubator 1871 in Chicago. The HappiLyfe app is available in the AppStore for iPhone and Google Play Store for Android.
