The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, August 5, 2022 20 By Raye Smith TV Media Apples to apples: The first three seasons of TLC's "sMothered" may have rede- fined the phrase "like mother, like daughter" with the cast members' extreme bonds, but now the inseparable pairs re- turn for a fourth season that's set to be the wildest one yet. "sMothered" returns Mon- day, Aug. 8. Welcoming back four fan- favorite duos from past sea- sons, Season 4 ups the ante by introducing three new pairs to share their stories as well. More like twins than par- ent and child, Cher and her mom, Dawn, are ecstatic to both be living in Florida once again after being separated for six years. Meanwhile, things are heating up with Kathy, Christina and Christi- na's husband, Carlo, now that his pizzeria is getting off the ground. Also returning this season are daughter Angelica and her mom, Sunhe, who share abso- lutely everything. With Angeli- ca's wedding now called off, Sunhe is eager to raise her daughter's baby with her. Lauren and her mother, Lisa, round out this season's return- ing cast. After last season's se- cret at-home insemination, Lauren's wife, Laura Leigh, is insistent that the pair set some boundaries — especially now that Lauren is pregnant. New pairs include Shay and Angie, who have always been attached at the hip but have grown closer since Shay came out as transgender (though not without some growing pains), and Paula and her mother, Francia, who have no such thing as boundaries. In a bit of a role reversal, Paula seems more mother than daughter as she works to keep her mom in line. Lastly, living next door to one another, Ashley and Cathy hold each other's hands through everything, including chin lifts, tattoos and nipple piercings. But their close, over- the-top bond has put a strain on the rest of the family. From non-existent boundar- ies to matching plastic surgery and "grand-smothering," nothing is off limits for these intertwined twosomes.
