Lady Charger golfers win opener over Tecumseh By Andy Heuring Press-Dispatch Sports sports@pressdispatch.net Pike Central's girls golf team beat Tecumseh on Mon- day in a dual match at Pike Central. The Chargers won 246 to 266 over the Braves. Charger coach Jarrod Gide- on said he was glad to get the win despite their inexpe- rience. "Three of my six girls who played in the match have never played in a match be- fore and just picked up a club a month ago," said Gideon. Senior Chloe Williams shot a 57 to lead the way for the Chargers. Addy Russell had a 62, Mabrey Shoultz 63, Grace Goodpasture 64, Aubree Mc- Gowan 65 and Sophie Boy 69,. "We are inexperienced. They will get a lot better. We have three girls who hadn't picked up a golf club until a month ago. So just getting around the course without making double par on ever y hole is an accomplishment," said Gideon. "We are going to get a lot better as the year goes on. I can see us getting 30 strokes better," said Gideon. Gracelyn Snow makes the mud fly with her 4-wheeler during the Mud Bogs competition Saturday afternoon. She made a run of 41'6".
