This year's event will begin on August 12 at Rumbling Bald Resort with competition Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14. This year's Olympiad theme is "2 Good to be True" with the Slam the Dam 10K and the Lake Lure Triathlon. The Race to the Rock has been canceled this year, but according to Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park the race to the rock will resume in 2023. Hundreds of athletes gather at Rumbling Bald and Lake Lure for one of Western North Carolina's Premier Destination Sports Festivals. The Lake Lure Olympiad is a nonprofi t organization that brings people from across the country together. Over the years more than $315,000 has been given back to the community for charities and service organizations. The Junior Olympiad will be held on Saturday, August 13 at Rumbling Bald. The Junior Olympiad is organized by Lake Lure Classical Academy and young people and children are encouraged to participate. For more information and to register, visit: www.
