OZAUKEE COUNTY FAIR CONLEY MEDIA 10 JULY 2022 By Blair Martin Special to Conley Media CEDARBURG — Live mics, fluorescent lights and the comforting sound of local musicians: these are trademarks of Ozaukee County's annual fair that is set to celebrate its 163rd year of operation from Aug. 3 to Aug. 7. This year the Vic Ferrari Band, Madison County, Johnny Wad and Bella Cain are among the groups that will grace the fair's stages. "When you think of sum- mer in Wisconsin, it's all about hanging out with friends and listening to music together," said Chris- tine Curran, Ozaukee Coun- ty Fair Board member. Curran and her fellow board members were on the lookout for impressive acts all year with the hopes of programming a lineup that community members will enjoy. The fair board group is a diverse one, whose members' ages span more than 40 years. This variety of perspec- tives allows the board to successfully represent the people that they serve. "Together, we go to a lot of other venues and fairs, which helps us collectively figure out what will best fit our venue," Curran said. Throughout the fair's run, 12 different musical acts will perform. The groups' niches span from country to rock 'n' roll, but they are connected by a thread of authenticity that is woven into the fabric of the fair's history. Anybody can experience the magic of the music free of charge during the fair's five-day run from Aug. 3 to Aug. 7.
