WASHINGTON COUNTY FAIR CONLEY MEDIA JULY 2022 3 By Gay Greisbach Special to the Daily News If you're in the mood for a polka, rock 'n' roll, coun- try, swing or a well-sea- soned choir during the Washington County Fair, you'll have a half dozen stages to choose from. Through the years the fair's musical offerings have grown, in part because of making the most of spaces not previously used for bands, Fair Park Execu- tive Director Kellie Boone said. As a fairgoer, one of Boone's favorite acts was Kip Moore, who performed in 2015. "He played before the permanent stage went up — he was really good," Boone said. Last year her hands- down favorite was Brantley Gilbert, but with this year's lineup, Boone said it's hard- er to choose. "I'm excited to see all the main stage acts — I've never seen any of them live," Boone said. She said VIP tickets for Silver Lining Amphitheater headliners Tyler Farr, Bret Michaels and Justin Moore are in demand. While the concert-goers can enjoy music from the hillside with a general admission fair ticket, VIP reserved seating runs from $35 to $45 for 1,500 up-front fans that will have access to their own bars and bath- rooms. On Thursday, Farr and special guest Warren Zei- ders will present country music colored by daily rou- tines and future dreams. The 2013 release of Farr's debut album, "Red- neck Crazy", landed at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and includes three No.1 songs — "Red- neck Crazy," "Whiskey in My Water" and "A Guy Walks Into a Bar." Farr is currently work- ing on new music with long- time friend Jason Aldean, serving as a producer for the forthcoming project. According to his website bio, Farr's new single, "Cover Girl," dropped to radio in February 2020. Zeiders' latest single, "Wild Horse," and debut video for the tune illustrate the young crooner's dilem- ma between chasing love or his dreams. On Friday, Bret Michaels will take the stage with special guest Frank Ray. Michaels, who also appeared at the fair in 2015, has sold over 100 million records, digital and streams worldwide. In his 30-year career Michaels has also produced and starred in record- breaking hit TV shows, "Rock of Love with Bret Michaels," "Life as I know it with Bret Michaels" and Travel Channel's "Bret Michaels Rock My RV." He is also a "Celebrity Appren- tice" winner. In 2020, he released his single titled "Unbroken," which coincided with a #hotrocks Challenge that called on fans from around the world to show off their best dance moves on Insta- gram — with Michaels awarding one lucky winner a $10,000 donation to the recognized charity of their choice. On "Country'd Look Good On You," Ray, a coun- try newcomer showcases the versatility of his voice across the infectious tune, delivering classic country vocals in each verse before delving into a suave chorus that is rounded out at the end with some '90s high notes. On Saturday, Justin Moore and special guest Chris Cagle will headline. Moore landed his first country #1 with "Small Town USA" off his 2009 Justin Moore album. The record went platinum, as did its 2011 follow-up, "Out- laws Like Me," which yield- ed yet another #1 single with "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away." "Kinda Don't Care," became his third consecutive #1 record. Moore's fifth studio album, "Late Nights and Long- necks," it is a no-frills por- trait of small-town life and big-time dreams that's not afraid to let its hair down and party at the end of a hard day's work. From 2000 to 2011, Cagle produced a successful string of singles and albums. He currently lives in Love County, Oklahoma and continues to perform and tour.
