A Kings Mountain native, she was the daughter of the late George and Letha Stewart. She was also pre- ceded in death by brothers, Herman Stewart and Ralph Stewart and stepson, Lance O'Shields. She is survived by her hus- band, David O'Shields; son Jeffrey Grigg of Charlotte; daughter, Lynn Poston and husband Tim Poston of Kings Mountain; step daugh- ter Dianne Bolden of Clinton, SC; sister Elizabeth Stewart of Kings Mountain; brother Gary Stewart and wife Mary Jo of Kings Mountain; two granddaughters; and a step granddaughter. The funeral was held July 11, 2022 at Dixon Presbyterian Church and was conducted by the Rev. Randy Patterson. Burial followed at Mountain Rest Cemetery. Born in New Orleans, LA, on December 13, 1944. he was the son of the late Joseph Burton Broughton and Rosie Pipken Broughton. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Poston Broughton; son, Burt Broughton and wife Nicole; daughter, Barbie Sprouse; three sis- ters, Teressa Muse, Gale Monahan, and Joan Harrill; and four grandchildren. Linda was born Saturday, July 31, 1948 in Rutherford County to the late Walt Lavender and Ethel Green Lavender. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by J.B. Cartee. TED GIBSON Mr. Ted Gibson, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 8, 2022. A native of Gaston County, he was born January 10, 1936, son of the late Edgar Monroe and Lela Mae Lorance Gibson. Mr. Gibson served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Gibson, one sister, Doris Powers, and a son-in-law, Carl "Chuck" Spangler, III. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Greer Gibson of the home, one son, Mark Gibson and wife Stephanie of Boiling Springs; two daugh- ters, Tonie Turner and hus- band Macky of Shelby, and Sabrina Spangler of Boiling Springs; one brother, Merritt Gibson and wife Tish; one sister, Jean Auton; and nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
