Recently he put those two traits together and began selling his homemade bread to raise money for homeless people in Rutherford County. Thus far the 11-year- old sixth grader has sold between $200 and $225 in homemade breads and will take the money to BASICS Ministry in Henrietta. A homemade loaf of zucchini, strawberry, banana nut, peach or an Amish bread is only $1. He is taking orders for bread and appreciates any and all other donations. Corbin, the son of Bryan and Emily Baynard and Christiana and Joe Duplechin, plans to make bread through the rest of summer and uses the zucchini grown from his garden for the zucchini bread. He does some cooking at his parents' homes but most of the time he is cooking at his MeMaw Vanessa Baynard's home. For her birthday dinner recently made chopped roasted potatoes, chicken and green beans — also from his vegetable garden. Corbin will enter the sixth grade at R-S Central Middle School in August where his favorite subject is reading. He will most likely continue his hobby of cooking when time allows and will keep up with reading his favorite recipes.
