The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, July 8, 2022 20 By Leo Pusztai TV Media Reclaiming 'Fame': Sum- mer's prime time is packed full of new competitions, and ABC is bringing "Claim to Fame" to its lineup as of Monday, July 11. Frankie Jonas grew up as "the bonus Jonas," living in the shadow of his older brothers' fame as the Jonas Brothers band gained worldwide notori- ety. Now, he's teaming up with his eldest brother, Kevin, to turn their family dynamic over to reality TV. In "Claim to Fame's" com- petition format, 12 contes- tants — all related to celebri- ties in some way — enter a household together with one goal in mind: uncover the oth- er contestants' celebrity con- nections while keeping their own identity hidden. The guests form alliances and compete with each other in challenges geared to catch them in their own lies while also "playing DNA detective" to avoid being eliminated. The last contestant to have their identity revealed wins the $100,000 grand prize. Recent promotional materi- al has revealed the first few contestants' names, along with their "two truths and a lie" regarding their famous rel- atives. They include Kai, who claims to be the sister of a Grammy-winning singer, and X, who claims their father is an Emmy-winning actor. The new series trailer shows that the contestants are ready to put their most deceptive strategies to the test, all of which will definitely stir up some drama. It also reveals the true identities of some of the famous relatives and promises to include gymnast Simone Biles and actors Zendaya ("Dune," 2021), Whoopi Gold- berg ("Sister Act," 1992) and Chuck Norris ("Walker, Texas Ranger"). "Claim to Fame" is pro- duced by Kinetic Content, the company behind "Love is Blind" and "Married at First Sight." Paul Osborne ("Big Brother") serves as executive producer and showrunner, while Brian Smith ("Mas- terChef USA") executive pro- duces and directs the project. Put your own sleuthing skills to the test when "Claim to Fame," premieres Monday, July 11, on ABC. realtalk Kevin and Frankie Jonas star in "Claim to Fame" B/The Pine Shop 6 x 7.5 Quality Home Furnishings.
