It offers massive star quality with Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and (in his final film) James Dean in the saga of love and power in the Texas cattle and oil businesses. Two men from opposite ends of the economic spectrum romance a newcomer to their territory, with ever- intensifying emotions resulting. The superb cast also includes Carroll Baker, Mercedes McCambridge, Sal Mineo, Rod Taylor, Chill Wills, Dennis Hopper and Earl Holliman. The new 4K Ultra HD disc includes an audio commentary by George Stevens Jr., screenwriter Ivan Moffat and film critic Stephen Farber. ›››› (G) "THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY: SEASON TWO" The sophomore round of the comic-book- inspired Netflix series, which is about to start streaming its third season, sees the disparate adopted siblings (who were born simultaneously, but don't necessarily get along) arrive in Dallas in 1963 ... where events build toward the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, but the introduction of a time-travel element may alter history. Members of the ensemble cast include Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Colm Feore and Kate Walsh. ››› (Not rated: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray) "CINDERELLA" The fairy tale about the goodhearted but oppressed young woman – complete with wicked stepmother and mean stepsisters – who eventually finds her prince and becomes the belle of a ball has been one of the most retold of all stories. Last year, it emerged again in this version, the first to head straight to a streaming service for its debut. Music's Camila Cabello making her acting debut in the title role in this take adapted and directed by Kay Cannon ("Pitch Perfect"), and intended for a theatrical release but ultimately going straight to Prime Video instead. Also a producer of the project, James Corden is a cast member along with Idina Menzel (as the bad stepmom), Minnie Driver, Pierce Brosnan, Primetime Emmy winner Billy Porter ("Pose") and Missy Elliott. British actor Nicholas Galitzine plays the prince, and expectedly, Cabello and "Wicked" stage veteran Menzel get to sing. ››› (PG: AS, P) (Also on Blu-ray) "YOU ARE NOT MY MOTHER" The title sentence is exactly what a woman (Hazel Doupe) has to say about her mom (Carolyn Bracken) in writer-director Kate Dolan's Ireland-set, Halloween-season melodrama. The elder lady suddenly vanishes – which is particularly strange because she's been bedridden – but soon turns up again, though she behaves in a manner that seems downright alien, in more ways than one. The daughter is determined to find out just what's going on, which could become a lethal pursuit. ››› (Not rated: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray and On Demand) "THE ADVENTURES OF OZZIE AND HARRIET: SEASONS ONE AND TWO" Issued in two separate volumes, early episodes of this long-running series recall one of television's first families, literally. The Nelsons – parents Ozzie and Harriet, and sons David and Ricky – got in on the medium almost at its infancy by transferring their real-life relationships into a sitcom (which actually began on radio), with Ozzie truly keeping it a family affair by writing and directing all of the episodes. As old- fashioned as the 1952-66 show clearly seems now, it was a huge hit in its day; Ricky went on to a successful music career that encompassed the singles "Poor Little Fool," "Hello Mary Lou," "Travelin' Man" and "Garden Party." ››› (Not rated) "THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT" In a project he has claimed he initially didn't want to do, Nicolas Cage appears to have massive fun playing a version of himself, one who has suffered setbacks professionally and financially. That prompts him to accept a huge paycheck from a loyal fan (Pedro Pascal) to make an appearance for the latter's birthday, but Cage has to live up to his billing in a big way when a CIA agent (Tiffany Haddish) enlists him to use his movie skills for an espionage mission. Sharon Horgan and Neil Patrick Harris also appear, but Cage clearly is the star attraction here. DVD extras: "making-of" documentary; audio commentary by writer and director Tom Gormican and writer and executive producer Kevin Etten; deleted scenes. ››› (R: AS, P, V) (Also on Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, Digital and On Demand) Nicolas Cage in "The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent" "The protocol for COVID, and all that protocol that we had in place, made me feel very safe and eager to get down to biz ... get down to play." – Jeff Bridges of "The Old Man" on FX " a w f to d B M "I kept my faith. I researched. I just didn't sit at home being idle. I went to visit MIT. I went to space museums. I read books. So, I was really able to keep myself immersed in the world of 'Tom Swift.'
