The 22 participants of the first Winslow 5K run were off bright and early Saturday at 8 a.m. They ran a course along the new park trail and then onto the streets of Winslow and back to the Winslow Sports Park. "We had a great turnout," said Alexis Rusch, Presi- dent of the Winslow Parks and Recreation Board. She said they are raising funds for new playground equip- ment and solar lights for the walking path. Runners take off in the Winslow 5K Camelia Seger and Briar Meadors were the men's and women's winners in the Winslow 5K. Meadors ran a time of 23:36, while Seger ran a 25.36 for second. Other finishers were Clint Boger 26;57, Larcy Emmert 27:37, Carrie Shelton 35.19, Holly Schumacher 35.23 and Ethan Kunz 39:30. The others chose to walk and not receive a time.
