He was born October 16, 1959 in Jasper, to Sherril J. and the late Jack B. Weathers. Kent graduated from Otwell High School and attended In- diana University. He lived and worked on the family farm in Winslow. He was an avid out- doorsman who enjoyed fish- ing, animals and plants. He al- so liked to spend time antiqu- ing. He was a member of St. Vincent Church. He is survived by his moth- er, Sherril J. Weathers; sister, Jennifer Koch; brother, James "Bruce" Weathers; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack B. Weath- ers. The family wishes to thank Heart to Heart Hospice Care during the last seven months for their amazing comfort to both Kent and our family. He was born on January 29, 1958, in Hammond, to the late Terry and Moana (Autry) Crume. Scott "Ghost Rider" Crume was retired from Buchta Trucking. He was a member of the Petersburg Moose Lodge. He enjoyed horseback riding and spending time with fam- ily and friends. He is survived by his chil- dren, Tiona Branum, Chris- topher Crume, of Petersburg, and Amber Crume, of Peters- burg; siblings, Shawn Crume, of Huntingburg, Darnell Rob- ertson, of Petersburg; a spe- cial granddaughter, Sierra Branum; four other Grand- children; four great-grand- children; and special friend, Kathy Poselwait. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dar- ren and Stephen Crume; sis- ter, Dana Sutt and Dionne Crume; son, Shane Crume; granddaughter, Natisha Bra- num; and great-grandson, Dawsyn Poselwait. He was born on December 5, 1942, to Kenneth Hadley and Syble ( Wilkes) Hadley, in Linton. He retired from IP&L in 2001 after 34 years and has a parking lot named in his hon- or. He was an Army Veteran. He was a member of Glezen Revival Center in Peters- burg. He was well known for his sense of humor, love of his family, love of sports- includ- ing IU basketball and Colts football. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vinnie (Owens) Hadley; three sons, Brad ( Jo) Hadley, of Petersburg, Mi- chael (Amanda) Hadley, of Velpen, and Stephen Hadley, of Petersburg; nine grand- children; nine great-grand- children; and a sister, Mar- sha Hadley Cedarquist, of In- dianapolis. His parents and one broth- er, Ronnie Hadley proceeded him in death. A celebration of life is planned for Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Glezen Revival Cen- ter. Time to be determined. COACH EYEWEAR Back up big trucker - You're going the wrong way A semi truck from NIS Express Group, Inc., out of Orland Park, Illinois, got stuck inside the detour on Har- vest Lane in Petersburg Monday afternoon, causing damage to a resident's property and had to be towed out of the yard. Once the truck was out of the subdivision, with the help of a local towing company, it was escorted out onto State Road 61, driving backwards until he could turn around, by Petersburg Police and Pike County Sheriff's Department. There have been 29 tickets issued so far for trucks caught inside of the detour, where it clearly says trucks are not allowed. "Fines are $1,000, and drivers are given 30 days to pay the fine," Pe- tersburg Police Chief Kyle Mills said. The PTO sponsored this event and the 'My Favorite Guy Dance, in which the girls have the dance with their dads (or favorite guy) and the boys get to paint with their moms (or favorite ladies).PTO uses the money raised for a variety of things for the teachers and students throughout the school year, such as school supplies, staff appreciation, field day, popcorn Fridays and more. They also sponsor the spelling bee to pay for the trophies, and bigger projects such as playground equipment, music equipment, and the outdoor announcement sign.
