GENTIVA HOME HEALTHCARE LAUNCHES FOOD DRIVE TO BENEFIT RUTHERFORD COUNTY WOMEN’S SHELTER (PATH) &CLEVELAND COUNTY WOMEN’S SHELTER (LIGHTHOUSE) Staff members from the Gentiva Home Health offi ce here will be blanket- ing the Cleveland and Rutherford Counties Aug. 1-31, distributing food col- lection bags and gathering donations for Cleveland and Rutherford County Women’s shelters as part of the Company’s 6th Annual Food Drive. Gentiva employees at the Shelby offi ce and their counterparts around the country are placing the food collection bags at various healthcare facilities in their respective communities and will collect their “harvest” during the entire month of August. They are focused on beating last year’s national record, when the company’s 5th Annual Food Drive yielded more than 94,000 pounds of goods for donation to charitable organizations across the country. “As active members of the community, we know that food banks, pan- tries and other charitable organizations face rising demand and a chronic lack of necessary supplies due to the economy and global food short- ages,” said Melissa Lackey, Gentiva’s Shelby Branch Director. “We also know that proper nutrition is important for the well-being of the people that we serve. In these especially hard economic times, more people are at risk for poor nutrition and hunger. We look forward to working with many area health organizations, and we encourage local healthcare providers to contact us for more information on how they and their employees can participate in this community effort.” Gentiva provides superior skilled nursing, physical and occupational therapies and related services to residents of Cleveland, Rutherford, and surrounding counties. Its Shelby offi ce is owned and operated by Gentiva Health Services, Inc., one of the nation’s largest providers of high-quality, comprehensive home health, hospice and related services. Gentiva’s of- fi ces are staffed by area professionals familiar with the health needs of community residents. At the same time, Gentiva’s national scope allows it to bring substantial resources to its local offi ces that other companies often cannot provide. Area residents, physicians and referral sources who want to learn more about Gentiva’s superior homecare services should contact Melissa Lack- ey at 704-484-3294. The Gentiva offi ce is located at 425 Cherryville Rd Suite A, Shelby, NC 28105. Gentiva Health Services Inc. is a leading provider of comprehensive home healthcare services, delivering innovative, high-quality care to patients across the US. The company offers skilled nursing; physical, occupational, speech & neurorehabilitation services; hospice services; social work; nutrition; disease management education; help with daily living activities; and other therapies and services.
