I alerted my readers last week of a possible change in the flow com- ing, and sure enough its upon us. This jetstream change will shift the winds to a more typical August fashion, and as luck has it, a developing Tropical Storm “Danielle” is poised to come into the Southeast states beginning this weekend. Regardless of how strong she gets, we should get rain from the flow around it. That storm, combined with a new cold front stalling in the nation’s mid section, will pump rich gulf moisture right over our area, and it could finally really let loose on the rains. We desperately need the rain, and we may actually get too much rain too fast. For much of next week, the pattern looks conducive to daily rains in our area, with abundant moisture at all levels of the atmosphere, and no big sinking high pressure sitting directly on top of us to prevent daily storms.
