By Eileen Mozinski Schmidt Special to Waukesha County Home Grab the mop, the broom and get ready to clean. Organizing the house this spring can be achieved with the right equipment and approach, according to area experts. "The first thing on the list is to have the tools you need to succeed. Look at your cleaning equipment and make sure it is in good working order," said Brad Marth, owner of Marth Cleaning LLC. The business, which started in 2016, serves residential and commercial clients throughout Waukesha County offering whole home cleaning, moving- based cleaning services and reoccurring services, according to Marth. He stressed the importance of also maintaining the equipment used in the home. "The cleaner your tools are, the cleaner the home will be," he said, adding that it helps to keep supplies in the same loca- tion. "Store all your tools together, it makes it so much easier," Marth said. A second step is to clear the clutter before a deep clean, according to Marth. "You almost need to clean before you really do spring cleaning. Look at closets, put away some of your winter gear. Take a look at some of those items you're not wearing or using and take a look at donating them," he said. Utilizing closet space to full potential is key, and Marth said several stores now carry closet shelving and organization systems that are user friendly to install. "It can really help with organization," he said. CHRIStal Clean LLC also provides resi- dential cleaning in Waukesha County. Owner Chris Steffes, whose husband Dale is also an owner of the business, has been cleaning homes for 32 years. CHRIStal Clean now has 20 cleaning technicians in the field and serves over 500 clients throughout the county, accord- ing to Steffes, who said the business has an approach of professional cleaning fea- turing essential oils. The business also focuses on communi- ty service. When the pandemic began, it offered a free disinfectant give away. "And we provide free cleanings to any family dealing with cancer through Cleaning For a Reason Foundation," Steffes said.
