The Greeneville Sun, Greeneville, TN April 9 - 15, 2022 — 25 4 x 4" ad lifecare center Sudoku (filled by client) Celebrity Scoop Celebrity Scoop By George Dickie In the category of actors who have had a number of long runs on TV series, we present for your consider- ation Shemar Moore. Indeed, the man who stars as LAPD team leader Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson on "S.W.A.T.," which airs its 100th episode Sunday, April 10, on CBS, stands as the answer to a trivia question since he also did 12 seasons on "Criminal Minds," eight on "The Young and Restless" and four as host of "Soul Train." That's at least 100 episodes in three series and a prized hosting gig in a fourth. "In the past I was a 'Jeopardy' question, which was kind of a big honor and kind of a trip," that actor admits. "I don't know how many episodes of television I've done in 28 years but I'm blessed. My acting Checking in with Shemar Moore coach has always joked that I have the Midas touch because in 28 years of working, the longest I've gone unemployed is four months. So yeah, it has been quite a run." Friday's installment finds Hondo on the lam when a deepfake video implicates him in the murder of two cops. The episode promises to have its usual bounty of action as Moore says the show filmed several helicop - ter stunts in downtown Los Angeles and at least one involving Hondo. Moore estimates he does about 75 percent of his stunts and after a long shooting day, the uber-fit actor says he feels all of his 51 years. "When I get out of my car at home, I literally can barely walk," he says. "So I've got a Theragun to loosen up my body. I've got a cold plunge in my house, a sauna. I've got a lot of ibuprofen and Advil. I've got a hot tub and I've got a masseuse that I call in when needed. "I'm going to be 52 years old in about a month and a half, so I joke that they could have given me this job 10-15 years ago when it wouldn't have hurt so much," he says, laugh - ing. The cannabis business is booming across the country but you wouldn't know it by the appearance of many dispensaries, something Kim Myles intends to correct in an unscript- ed series upcoming on discovery+. In "High Design," which begins streaming Wednesday, April 13, the interior designer and former "Myles of Style" host travels to retail stores in California, Maine, Colorado and Alaska to offer her design skills to their owners to upgrade their facilities, which can be pretty austere. Much of that is due to states having a mishmash of regulations regarding the sale of cannabis, so these establishments can have blacked out windows, a lengthy check-in process and even state videocameras monitoring the sales of product, which can make customers uncomfortable and feel like criminals. Also, these are usually mom-and-pop operations, so capital for improvements is pretty limited. So Myles, who uses cannabis to enhance sleep and treat anxiety, is ready to help in the hopes of improving the customer experience. "This is the cannabis boom," she says, "and I feel like so many people are what I like to call "canna-curious." Like so many Boomers who maybe smoked pot back in the day and they haven't picked it up since, now they're retired and they have aches and pains and they are curious. They want to check it out. ... And so the onus is on owners to be a trusted resource, an educational resource for their clients." In addition to making over these establishments' lackluster interiors into top-of-the-line retail spaces, Myles also explores cannabis in all its forms as she takes field trips to learn how cannabis soap, lotions, soda and food items are made. The goal of the series, says Myles – who is also the series' creator and an executive producer – is to acquaint viewers with cannabis and take the mystery and intimidation out of it.
