The NC tournament is on Lake Norman. The tournament runs for three day's, Friday-Sunday, and the big prize is not for the total weight, but rather the largest fi sh caught during those three days. The grand prize is a brand new Nitro boat. Jim Weaver is a Cleveland County resident who has fi shed small tournaments on several lakes for a long time. He has fi shed the Big Bass Tournaments at Norman for several years, and this year would be his year. On the second day of the tournament, at 7:30 in the morning, Jim caught a fi sh that he knew could be the most important fi sh of his life. The largemouth Bass weighed in at 7.17 lbs, which is a big deal coming from Norman. He weighed the fi sh in at 8 am, and put him at the top of the leader board. He just had to keep the lead until Sunday afternoon. Jim said he was so excited and nervous about the fi sh that he couldn't do anything right after that, fumbling, back lashing and getting hung up. Jim won the March 2022 Lake Norman Big Bass Tour, winning $1000.00 for the big fi sh for hour, and also the grand prize of the Nitro Boat package, worth well over $50,000.00.
