He was born August 30, 1944 in Gaston County to the late William Everette and Pearl Mae Neal Mason. Mr. Mason served our country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Lenita Hastings Mason, daughters: Gwen Mason, Linda Twardos and husband Joseph; a grandson; brothers-in-law, Calvin Hastings and wife, Terresa, Donald Hastings and Frank Plichta; daughters- In-law; and brother, Charles Mason and wife. Ann. He was preceded in death by sisters: Diane Mason and Annie Mae Jackson; and brothers, William "Bud" Mason and Robert Wayne Mason. Graveside service was held March 27th at Hephzibah ARP Church. MARVIN TERRY HORD Marvin Terry Hord, 73, of Blacksburg, passed away on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022. Born in Gastonia, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Marvin Hord and Murline Green Hord. Mr. Hord is survived by his soulmate, Teresa Hord Whaley; his chil- dren, Alesia Bass (Charles Bass), William Hord (Maria Hord), and Julian Hord, all of Blacksburg; two broth- ers, Thomas Hord and Darl Hord; five sisters, Barbara Woody, Rebecca Prater, Sue Costner, Rachel Green, and Janice Otten; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held April 2, 2022 at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Jay Hurst officiating. STEPHEN A. RAMSEY Stephen A. Ramsey, 73, of York went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Born in Gaffney to Eugene "Red' and Juanita Ramsey, he was originally from Blacksburg, SC. He was the husband of Matril H. Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents. In addition to his wife, he is survived by twin sons, Stephen B. Ramsey and wife, Chastity, of Gaffney and Eddie Ramsey and SYBIL McSWAIN SIMPSON Sybil McSwain Simpson, 72, of Shelby, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022. Born in Cleveland County, on August 21, 1949, she was a daughter of the late James Miller McSwain and Velma Wright McSwain. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Stanley Simpson; a son, Jack S. Simpson, Jr.; a daughter, Debra Denice Simpson; two great grand- children; and a sister Mildred Wray. Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Lee and husband Timmy of Shelby; four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Born in Gaffney, he was the widower of Barbara Borders Falls and the son of the late Herbert Falls and Helen White Falls. Mr. Falls is survived by two sons, Todd Pennington (Dana) of Gaffney and Richie Pennington of Smyrna; four brothers, Herbert Falls (Linda), Steve Falls (Kristy), Donald Falls, and Roy Falls (Patricia); two sisters, Nancy Ann Panceroff and Barbara Smith; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice. RALPH ODELL O'SHIELDS Mr. Ralph Odell O'Shields, 79, of Cherryville, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022. Ralph was born in Brevard, NC on June 23, 1942 a son of the late Ralph Sylvester O'Shields and Ruth Fowler O'Shields. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Huffstetler O'Shields. JESSE JAMES BLEDSOE Jesse James Bledsoe, 44, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Born in Gastonia, he was the son of Anna Frisbee Bledsoe and the late James Bledsoe. Mr. Bledsoe is survived by three sons, Jesse James Bledsoe Jr, Cody Wyatt Bledsoe, and Gabriel Lane Bledsoe; a daughter, Samantha Paige Bledsoe; a sister, Cierra Michelle Bledsoe; a grandchild; and the mothers of his children, Sabrina Camp Bledsoe and Pamela Gail Wilson.
