By Jean Gordon Clyde Martin — We love the walking area. Great place to stretch our legs. (Travelers from eastern Pennsylvania on way to Campobello, SC. Saw the park signs from the road and stopped by for a rest). Hilda Martin - We love the children. We have seven. We also love the color. The redbuds are beautiful. You all are ahead of us with spring. (The Martins were on a road trip celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary). Chess Roach — It's a safe place for our children to play. (He and wife Lacey Roach were also strolling around the Park.) Alyanna Grissom — It's a quiet Park. Ruthie Howell — It's peaceful. James Lindsay — I've never been here before. We live in Bostic and are here to celebrate son Robert's fourth birthday. We heard about the park and decided to come here. About the award - "The Chairman's Award is the most prestigious award at FIRST. It honors the team that best represents the model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the purpose and goals of FIRST. The Chairman's Award is presented to the team judged to have the most signifi cant, measurable impact of its partnerships among its participants and community for a sustained period, not just a single build season. The winner is able to demonstrate progress towards the FIRST mission of transforming our culture. A resourceful group that dramatically grew their team and their impact on their community and county, the size of their team and number of outreach events and sponsors prove they did not 'BYTE' off more than they could chew. This team has the core values of FIRST covered from alpha to OMEGA."
