He was born September 6, 1934, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Otis Elmer Clark and Ruby Pearl Poundstone. Mr. Clark served our country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, sib- lings, and one granddaugh- ter. She was the daughter of the late Sarah Elizabeth and Warren Lattimore. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Richard McRee Frye; her daughter, Sharon; her broth- ers, Sam Lattimore, W.D. Lattimore, Reverend Frank Lattimore; brother-in-law Charles Wright; sisters-in- law, Alene Lattimore and Sadie Lattimore; and two grandchildren. He is survived by a son; Joseph "Joe" Martin of Kings Mtn, a brother; Gene Martin of Asheville, NC, and a sister; Dora Self of Shelby, NC. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Roger Martin, Mike Martin, and Bobby Martin. Born in Gastonia, NC, he was the son of the late Marvin Hord and Murline Green Hord. Mr. Hord is survived by his soulmate, Teresa Hord Whaley; his chil- dren, Alesia Bass (Charles Bass), William Hord (Maria Hord), and Julian Hord, all of Blacksburg; two broth- ers, Thomas Hord and Darl Hord; five sisters, Barbara Woody, Rebecca Prater, Sue Costner, Rachel Green, and Janice Otten; and four- teen grandchildren and thir- teen great-grandchildren. The family will be at their respective homes. LAWRENCE HODGE Lawrence Hodge, age 81, of Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022. Lawrence was born Monday, September 9, 1940 in Rutherford County to the late Esper Hodge and Katherine Laughter Hodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Boyce and Dolphus Hodge and a step- daughter, Vickey Pardo. Left to cherish fond mem- ories are his wife, Gerelene S. Born in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Ethel Greene Swofford. Mr. Swofford served our country in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
