The non-profi t group Gathering on the Green has plans for several events at parks in Ozaukee County. Their premier music event is the July Concert Series July 7-10 at Mequon Rotary Park. "This will be our fi rst year expanding our July Concert Series from two nights to four nights," said Rob Kos, Gathering on the Green Executive Director. The July Concert Series starts July 7 with "Let it Ring," a tribute to veterans and fi rst responders. Proceeds raised will go to the Center for Veterans' Issues. Bruce in the USA, the nation's top Bruce Springsteen tribute band, and the Milwaukee Tool Shed Band will be performing starting at 6 p.m. July 8 will feature the "Roots & Boots Tour", with country stars Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye, Aaron Tippin and special guest Matt Wynn. The performance starts at 8 p.m. "The Roots and Boots Tour features three country artists with 40 top-10 country hits between them," said Kos. The following day shifts to rock, as 38 Special and Night Ranger are performing at 8 p.m. on July 9. Night Ranger has 12 studio albums and has sold over 17 million copies of their albums worldwide. The July Concert Series wraps up July 10 with "Rise & Shine" with Danny Gokey. This concert begins at 12 p.m. Gokey was a top-three fi nalist on Season Eight of American Idol. Proceeds will go to local civic and church organizations that partner with Gathering on the Green. "We typically get between 4,000 to 5,000 people for our concert series," said Kos.
