2 - WELCOME Welcome to Summer! The Park, Recreation, and Forestry Department is planning for another event-filled year for 2022. The excitement will start with several community-led projects, including the new Carl Kuss Field, the newly renovated Regner Park Beach House, and the reconstruction of the downtown Riverwalk. These impressive projects are made possible with the continued community support and personal investments from many individual and corporate donors. This commitment helps make West Bend a strong and proud community. The summer excitement will include over 20 recreational program opportunities, swimming at historic Regner Park, and weekly community events that everyone can enjoy. Youth tennis, archery, Women's Health & Fitness, and the Summer Youth Theatre are a snapshot of some recreational programs we have to offer. The Dirty Ninja Mud Run for Kids has been scheduled for July 16th and continues to have annual record attendance. We suggest that you register early for the very popular Mud Run. Programing and events continue to expand at Lac Lawrann Conservancy. Recently Lac Lawrann has partnered with Riveredge Nature Center, Mequon Nature Preserve, and the Cedarburg Bog to create the Ozaukee-Washington County Birding Coalition. This bird consortium allows Conservancy members and the public to enjoy new and exciting birding events at all four conservancy locations. New in 2022 will be the indoor honey bee observation hive. Lac Lawrann will continue to feature its many exciting programs, including Naturalist & Adventure Camps, raising Monarch butterflies, and various adventurous field trips. We hope to see everyone enjoying their parks, trails, and recreational experiences. Mike Jentsch Director of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department
