BURNETTE NORMAN HAYES Burnette Norman Hayes, age 91, of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 13, 2022. Born October 31, 1930 in Cleveland County, NC, Burnette was the daugh- ter of the late Emmit Hoss Norman and Ruby Turner Page and was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Edwin Hayes; a brother, Bobby Norman; and a sister, Wanda Conley and her husband, Ralph. A graveside service was held February 16, 2022 at Cleveland Memorial Park conducted by Bishop Shannon Wright. She was born May 17, 1968, a daughter of David and Gloria Martin. She is survived by her husband, Tony Faulkenberry; five children, Hannah Faulkenberry of and son, Terry (Jake) Lail. He is survived by two sons, Hal Lail of Shelby and Tim Lail (Valerie); and three granddaughters and eight great grandchildren. Carolyn was born June 3,1942 to Clifford B. Whicker and Letha (Foster) Whicker and was also preceded in death by her brother, Phillip; brother, Wayne; and a sister, Barbara Ann. February 25, 1966 she married Joseph E. Keener and to this union 2 children were born. Daughter Susan (Keener)Starr and David Keener. Carolyn's survivors include her daughter, Susan Starr (Kerry) of Centerville, IA; son, David Keener of Mooresboro, NC; five grandchildren; one great- grandson; a brother, Phillip E. Whicker of Moravia, IA; and one sister-in-law, Kitty Whicker of Blackwell, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Keener; her par- ents, Clifford B. Whicker and Letha (Foster) Whicker; one brother, Phillip; one brother, Wayne Ray Whicker, and her sister, Barbara Ann Smith. Barrett, Sr. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Ray Sturgill of Shelby; son, John E. "Butch" Barrett, Jr. of Waco; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
