GMTODAY.COM SUNDAY, MARCH 6, 2022 • WASHINGTON COUNTY POST • 3A West Bend native Courtney Rummel returns to her hometown March 5 fol- lowing her appearance at the 2022 Bei- jing Olympics. The 18-year-old mem- ber of the 2022 U.S. Olympic Snow- board Team placed 17th in slopestyle and 19th in big air during this year's events. Leading up to the 2022 Winter Olympics, she placed in the top 10 dur- ing the Mammoth Grand Prix with a ninth-place finish. Rummel, who is a member of the Wisconsin Advanced Ski and Snow- board Program, took home the silver in slopestyle during the 2021 U.S. National Championships coming off another silver finish in big air at the 2020 Nor-Am Cup. She also placed sev- enth in slopestyle at the Nor-Am Cup. Rummel made her debut at the 2018 Junior World Championships in Cardrona where she placed 15th in big air. In 2019, she competed in the World Cup in Modena where she placed 13th, and placed fifth in big air during the 2019 Junior World Championships. At the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games, Rummel finished seventh in slopestyle. Paid Advertising
