A person dies by suicide about every 12 minutes in America. 2. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death, persons ages 10 to 34 in America. 3. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death, veterans. 4. Suicide is the 5th leading cause of death, persons ages 35 to 54. 5. About 1.4 million people survived each year after attempting suicide. 6. About 45 million people are affected by the suicide of a love one. Suicides happen to stop unbearable body pain, and horrendous anxiety, caused by "bottled up" emotions. These emotions are pulsating, terribly aching and abscessing beneath an energy-draining-numbness. Providing unconditional love, empathy and acceptance can dissolve this numbness. This kind of care next invites the "bottled up" emotions to the surface, beyond the numbness, to be felt and expressed. And it is then, the pain and suicidal urges cease to exist as the emotions transcend into a "range of normalcy." The person, no longer suicidal; is now able to begin thriving toward living a full, meaningful life. And family and friends are saved from the devastating And family and friends are saved from the devastating torment caused by a love one's suicide. torment caused by a love one's suicide. Due to the above statistics, it becomes imperative, to build a "refuge of the future." A refuge, that offers unconditional love, empathy and acceptance. ± Scientifi c research from Harvard University, along with other published research studies, found that the above level of care creates "good feeling" chemicals inside the brain. ± Scientifi c research found these chemicals increase motivation, improve memory and appetite, and also encourages bonding and socializing with others. All of which, would help a person move through, and beyond, a suicidal crisis; this being, the objective of The Compeer House. ± The Compeer House will be stigma-free due to not labeling, medicating and electrocuting the brain (ECT therapy). ± The Compeer House instead will be inviting a spirit of belonging. A belonging, provided by compeers, who can "partner as an equal" with each suicidal person. ±This partnering includes compeers "actively listening" while using sounds of empathy and compassion. Of which, inspires the suicidal person to express their fears, sadness, anger and hopelessness. These "emotional releases" generate the chemical interactions, as described above; thus, suicidal urges come to an end. Also Compeers, through experience and training, will know that trying to "fi x the brain," as done by current mental health systems, could result in abnormal behaviors. These behaviors include extreme "mood swings," hallucinations; and include suicides, which have continued to increase since year 1999. The Compeer House, in comparison, will provide nurturing opportunities for the brain to fi x itself. In accordance with unconditional love, there will be no bills to pay at The Compeer House. Also suicidal persons will be giving "heartfelt-gifts" to the compeers; that which, happens when sharing the tremendous power of unconditional love. Therefore, suicidal persons will be honored with the highest respect possible; never, to be charged on a fi nancial level. Please Consider Donating To This Very Worthwhile Cause.
