MARTHA JANE OWENS Martha Jane Owens, 78, of Shelby, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Born in Cleveland County on January 29, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Dexter Clifford Owens and Essie Mae Johnson Owens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Clifford Owens, Bill Owens, Jessie Owens, Edward Owens and Boyd Owens and two sisters, Christine Cline and Lona Mae Craig. Survivors include one sis- ter, Betty Owens Shelton of King, NC. A private graveside ser- vice was held at Wallace Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Mr. W.D. Owens officiating. MINNIE ETHEL NEWTON MOSES Minnie Ethel Newton Moses, 88, of Casar, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Born in Cleveland County, NC on July 24, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Henry Edgar Newton and Texie Mozell Canipe Newton. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dink Clayton Moses; a grandson; two brothers, Ralph Newton and Junior Newton; and four sisters, Joann Martin, Marie Spade, Sue Walker and Ruby Swafford. Survivors include five sons: Norris Moses and wife, Justine, Charles Moses and wife, Shoney, Wayne Moses and wife, Debbie, David Moses and wife, Carolyn and Ronnie Moses and wife, Lynette all of Casar; three daughters, Nadine Lail and husband, Robert, Mary McNeilly and husband Archie and Peggy Moses all of Casar; two sis- ters, Sarah Hazel Crawley of Vale and Mary Lou Buff of Morganton; eight grandchil- dren; one step-grandchild; and fourteen great-grand- children. A Funeral Service was held February 26, 2022 at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Norris Willis officiating. The burial followed the service in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. He was born in Kings Mountain, NC, son of the late Lester Hayward and Victoria Carroll Bullock and was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Burton. Mr. Bullock served our country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife: Kimberlen Watts Bullock, Kings Mountain, NC; daughters: Michelle Higby and hus- band Chip of Gastonia, NC and Amanda Caldwell and Husband Carey of Woodruff, SC; five grandchildren; brother, Dean Bullock and wife Sue, Kings Mountain, NC; and sisters: Nell Moore, Kings Mountain, NC, Ruth Burris, Albemarle, NC, and Shirley Stamey, Charlotte, NC.
