Steven Thomas Lackey, Jr., age 46, of Kings Mountain, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022. He was born June 26, 1975 in Gaston County to the Roxanne Crosby Farnsworth and the late Steven Thomas Lackey, Sr. Survivors include his mother, Roxanne Crosby Farnsworth; sons, Nathaniel Thomas Lackey, and Mitchell Lackey; broth- ers, Kelly Low, and Justin Lackey; sister, Christy Low; fiancé, Carly Smith; step- son, Brock Smith; and step- daughter, Reese Wall. DAVID WAYNE SMITH David Wayne Smith, 62, of Casar, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022. Born in Cleveland County, on July 11, 1959, he was a son of the late Lenore "Lynn" Smith and Elizabeth Denton Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Melvin Smith; two infant brothers; two sisters, Eunice and Zelna Hudson; and two infant sisters. Survivors include his wife, Tonda Pye Smith of the home; a son, Brad Pye (Harley Burgess) of Forest City; three sisters, Thelma Smith and Marie Hudson of Casar, and Cora Lovelace of Shelby. A Graveside Service was held February 15, 2022 at Corinth Baptist Church in Casar with the Rev. Danny McNeilly officiating. Burial followed the service in the church cemetery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel O. Cloninger and a sister, Trudy C. Lail. She was employed by Kings Mountain Hospital for many years, and was loved by everyone there!
