Dear Friend,
This year, Vivalon invites you to join us in celebrating March
for Meals to provide nutrition and social connection for
older adults through Meals on Wheels.
The annual March for Meals celebration commemorates
the historic day in March 1972 when President Nixon
signed into law a measure that amended the Older
Americans Act to include a national nutrition program
for seniors 60 years and older — thus creating Meals on
Wheels.
This year, Meals on Wheels programs across the country are joining together to celebrate
50 years of success, and to garner the ongoing support needed to ensure these critical
programs continue to address food insecurity and malnutrition, combat social isolation,
enable independence, and improve the health of our older neighbors for years to come.
