18 ENTERTAINMENT EXTRA Royal Center Locker Plant 1 x 9" By Michelle Rose TV Media C hris "Ludacris" Bridges had a busy year in 2021, what with the launch of his Netflix series "Karma's World," the release of "F9" (the latest installment in the Fast & Furious franchise) and his "Burning Bridges" EP — he even welcomed the newest member of his family last July. So, you'd think 2022 might be a quieter year for the rapper/ actor/restaurateur/four-time dad, right? Nope. Ludacris has a few concert dates already lined up, and his Netflix film, "End of the Road," should land on the streamer later this year. But before all that, fans can watch Ludacris get back into the kitchen in another installment of "Luda Can't Cook," which has made the leap from one-off special in 2021 to (limited) series in 2022. Premiering Tuesday, Feb. 15, on discovery+, Season 2 of "Luda Can't Cook" consists of three episodes that show the hip-hop artist getting "schooled" in more world cui- sines and cooking techniques. "After the success of 'Luda Can't Cook' the first time around, we knew we had to bring Ludacris back for more," Courtney White, president of Food Network and Streaming Food Content at Discovery, said. "He is up for any challenge, and combining his passion for food and learning unexpected new skills is so entertaining to watch. He is determined to master cuisines from around the globe — and we are thrilled to join him for the ride." For the 2022 edition, the owner of Atlanta's Chicken + Beer kicks things off by ventur- ing to Little Haiti in Miami. While there, Ludacris learns the fundamentals of Haitian cuisine from chef Alain Lemaire before throwing a Haitian-style block party for guests that include former "Top Chef" competitor Gregory Gourdet. In Atlanta, Ludacris teams up with chef Seung Hee Lee to learn about Korean food, from kimchi to Korean barbecue. Later on, he cooks a three- course meal for celebrity chef Edward Lee (also a former "Top Chef" competitor) and comedi- an Lil Duval. Finally, Ludacris heads to Miami's Little Havana for a master class in Cuban food with James Beard Award- nominated chef Michael Beltran. After a visit from Timbaland, Ludacris is tasked with prepar- ing a three-course tasting menu for chef/restaurateur Lorena Garcia as his last challenge in Season 2 of "Luda Can't Cook," which returns to discovery+ on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
