VEGAS INC Average pay for similar jobs varies widely Ever wonder what working as a crime scene analyst for Metro Police pays? Or what Las Vegas' chief financial officer makes in a year? ¶ As part of an analysis of public employee salaries in 2012, VEGAS INC spotlighted a cross-section of positions and the average salary workers made performing similar job duties in different municipalities. ¶ The list includes job titles shared by hundreds of employees, as well as a some executive-level positions held by only one person. Some have comparable private-sector counterparts, such as custodians and mechanics, while other jobs exist locally only as part of a government, such as firefighters and police officers. ¶ Positions in Clark County, North Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Henderson and Metro Police all are included as examples, although not every job can be found in every municipality, and job responsibilities can vary from city to city.
