Be- ginning Tuesday, Feb. 8, on ABC and continuing for two weeks, the "Big Bang Theory" star and "Jeopardy!" special events host will be taking the helm of the game show's "Na- tional College Championship." Don't miss the opportunity to buzz in and guess the answers (or questions, as the format would have it) when it pre- mieres. The championship is an all- new competition that pits three contestants against each other at a time in a test of knowledge across six catego- ries (in true "Jeopardy!" fash- ion). Open to college and uni- versity undergrads aged 18 and older who don't hold any previous bachelor's degrees, the two-week tournament is noted as "an intense competi- tion ... like you've never seen before" (per the show's official website). While tryouts are still under- way as of writing and no con- testants have yet been an- nounced, fans of the show can no doubt expect a diverse group comprising undergrads from all walks of life, attending various post-secondary insti- tutions from across the coun- try. The best students from 15 schools will then be teamed up to compete head-to-head in a "University Challenge"- style competition. As always with "Jeopar- dy's" prime-time specials, Mayim Bialik serves as host, bringing her unique charm and energy to the podium as the students prepare to win big across the Jeopardy Round, Double Jeopardy, and of course, the Final Jeopardy Round that features the show's catchy signature theme tune to count down the 30 seconds allotted to lock in their responses.
