Derouchie, Deputy Clerk THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF KERN ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. This ordinance is adopted following four noticed public hearings as required by Elections Code section 21507.1 and shall take effect and be in full force on and after the 14th day of January, 2022 and shall be published once in all adjudicated newspapers published in the County of Kern, State of California, together with the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against the same. Section 2. Chapter 2.06 of Title 2 of the Ordinance Code of the County of Kern is amended in its entirety to read as follows: CHAPTER 2.06 2.06.010 Districts Established. 2.06.020 Continuation of Terms. 2.06.010 Established. Pursuant to the provisions of the FAIR MAPS Act of 2019 as amended in 2020, FRGLÀHGDW&DOLIRUQLD(OHFWLRQV&RGHVHFWLRQWRWKHERXQGDULHVRIWKH supervisorial districts of the County are adjusted, changed and established as set forth on Map A3, considered by the Board at its public hearing on November 16, 2021, DQGUHÁHFWHGLQ([KLELWV$DQG%KHUHWRDQGWKH\VKDOOFRQVWLWXWHDQGDUHKHUHE\ established as the boundaries of the supervisorial districts of the County of Kern for subsequent elections until further readjustment is required by law. 2.06.020 Continuation of Terms. Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, and pursuant to California Elections Code section 21506, subdivisions (a) and (b), each of the supervisors in RIÀFHDWWKHWLPHWKLV&KDSWHUWDNHVHIIHFWVKDOOFRQWLQXHLQRIÀFHXQWLOWKHH[SLUDWLRQRI WKHIXOOWHUPWRZKLFKKHRUVKHZDVHOHFWHGDQGXQWLOKLVRUKHUVXFFHVVRULVTXDOLÀHG DQGDQ\YDFDQF\LQDWHUPFXUUHQWO\XQGHUZD\VKDOOEHÀOOHGEDVHGRQWKHGLVWULFWVLQ effect at the time the current supervisors were elected. Section 3. $OORUGLQDQFHVDQGUHVROXWLRQVRUSDUWVWKHUHRILQFRQÁLFW with this ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. 7KH &RXQW\$GPLQLVWUDWLYH 2IÀFHU LV GLUHFWHG WR WDNH all necessary steps to give effect to this ordinance.
