The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, December 24, 2021 20 By Dana Simpson TV Media Finally 'Raiding': After its original release date was pushed back in what ap- peared to be a last-minute move earlier this year, it seems a new Food Network series is finally slated to hit the tube. The highly anticipat- ed (and long-awaited) series "Raid the Fridge" premieres Tuesday, Dec. 28, on Food Network. Originally scheduled for a Sept. 1 premiere, "Raid the Fridge" left many hopeful Food Network viewers won- dering where it suddenly dis- appeared to when it no longer appeared on the station's list- ings. But fear not: food pod- caster and host Dan Ahdoot is finally ushering in the show's premiere this holiday season (despite Food remaining fairly tight-lipped about why the date was pushed back). Marketed as a "don't judge a book by its cover"-type se- ries, "Raid" gives cooks the opportunity to choose a fridge to work from, giving the con- testants just the fridges' makes, models, magnets, art- work and family pictures as clues. But choosing a fridge based on these elements might be misleading, as the food inside might tell a differ- ent story than its façade sug- gests. Similar to the Canadian se- ries "Fridge Wars," which ran on CBC and CW last year, four chefs must create delicious meals with the materials found in their chosen fridge. The official Food Network release states that "the com- petition will unfold over not one, not two, but three rounds of challenges, all to be judged by Jamika Pessoa and Jordan Andino. ... They'll be on hand to taste the chefs' creations and ultimately decide which is worthy of the ultimate prize: a fridge full of cash." Don't miss the premiere of the highly anticipated compe- tition series "Raid the Fridge" when it airs Tuesday, Dec. 28, on Food Network. realtalk Dan Ahdoot hosts "Raid the Fridge" B/The Pine Shop 6x7.5 www.thepineshoponeonta.com www.thepineshoponeonta.com Hours: Mon.-Wed. 9-5:30 Thurs.-Fri. 9-6 and Sat. 9-5 5382 State Hwy 7 • Oneonta (607) 432-1124 Orech Vaccum Sales & Service, bags & belts for many other brands Quality Home Furnishings WishingallaHappyHealthyHolidaySea ThankYouForYourBusinessIn2021.WeLookForward ToHelpingYouWithYourHomeFurnishingNeedsIn202 W ason d 22.
