The purpose for which the Club is organized is to promote the art and craft of woodworking among all skill levels. The club encourages fellowship, education and community service within the membership. One of the Club's annual projects is the construction of toys for charitable organizations. For many years, the Club has been making wood toys that are donated to the Salvation Army, as part of their 'Christmas Giving to the Community' project. In years prior to COVID-19, some of these wood toys were displayed during the month of November and the fi rst week in December in the front window at the Rutherford County Visual Arts Gallery in downtown Rutherfordton. In addition to this giving project, the Club promotes woodworking through displays at fairs, festivals and other venues including : the Rutherfordton Mayfest and Hilltop Fall Festival, as well as the Ellenboro Colfax Free Fair. The Club holds monthly meetings on the second Tuesday each month (excluding the months of June and July) at 7 p.m. in the basement of the Rutherford County Visual Arts Gallery located at 160 North Main Street, Rutherfordton. Anyone interested in woodworking is invited to attend and enjoy some good fellowship and perhaps learn something about woodworking. There is a lot of woodworking knowledge in the Club.
