www.negociosnow.com Diciembre 2021 25 ABOUT US: Rockford Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was creat- ed by a small group of Community Leaders and advocates of the Hispanic community. Although the Rockford region is rich in resourc- es, there was no organization that specialized in meeting the needs of Hispanic business owners and entrepreneurs. These leaders were frequently approached with requests for information on busi- ness resources, technical support, and access to procurement infor- mation, and it was concluded that a Hispanic chamber of commerce would be the perfect way to assist such businesses. The plans were underway in 2019 and put on hold at the beginning of the COVID- 19 pandemic. As the pandemic continued, more businesses were impacted. The need for technical assistance and access to resource information became even more apparent, and the opening of the Rockford Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was expedited. It opened on Sept. 14, 2021, which is also Support Latino Business Day. MISSION The Rockford Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is a membership-based organiza- tion of local business leaders and individuals who work together to provide leadership that pro- motes and defends responsible, equitable, economic develop- ment, job opportunities, govern- ment, educational excellence, and long-term sustainability for local Hispanic and minority residents. RRHCC's vision is to be the lead- ing advocate and resource for Hispanic businesses and those who employ a Hispanic and minority workforce. PROGRAMS Membership in the Rockford Regional Hispanic Chamber of Commerce comes with various advantages that bring value both directly and indirectly. Members gain access to networking oppor- tunities, educational seminars, business services, and special events.
