With this new toolkit and the Compromiso seal, businesses are able to iden fy possible gaps between policy and culture and take the first steps toward innova ve solu on- building to help both businesses and our community thrive." Deena Fidas, Managing Director and Chief Program & Partnerships Officer, Out & Equal: "Business efforts to make LGBTIQ+ workplace inclu- sion a reality cannot stop with founda onal policies. Today's market demands that businesses priori ze their day-to-day cultures of inclusion. People rarely leave jobs because of what's in an employee manual – they leave because they are not respected or made to feel they do not belong. With this resource, we break down the policy-culture siloes to support busi- nesses of all sizes and employees across all ranks, to assess the true impact across the policy-culture di- vide and what they can do about it." The toolkit demys fies and makes accessible both the tried-and-true best prac ces in LGBTIQ+ inclusion from major global and regional employers as well as features emerging new prac ces for businesses. This resource provides flexible tools of individual empow- erment and organiza onal change, suppor ng em- ployers to iden fy gaps between policy and culture. The toolkit allows businesses to access a simple scor- ing rubric that takes a mul -faceted approach to evalua ng LGBTIQ+ inclusion in their workplace, us- ing three key components: 1. Equality as a Ma er of Policy: An overview of foun- da onal policies, benefits and protocols needed as a baseline to ensure workplace inclusion that you can use as a measure against your company's current policies. 2. Building and Sustaining an Inclusive Culture: An explana on of prac ces that support culture change within a company to be u lized as a reference and benchmarking tool for the prac ces within your company. This sec on includes two categories of prac ces: internal and external. 3. Everyday Experiences of Inclusion Efforts: These are reflec ve ques ons to assess the everyday expe- riences that culture and Diversity, Equity, and Inclu- sion (DEI) prac ces and policies have on employees. This is where you are able to gain perspec ve into any exis ng gaps in policy and culture prac ces ver- sus the day-to-day reali es across your workforce. Beyond the element of self-evalua on, Out & Equal and CCGLAR will con nue to work with companies to advance their inclusion efforts. The toolkit func ons in tandem with the official "Compromiso"seal for or- ganiza ons commi ed to diversity and inclusion of LGBTIQ+ people. The LGBT Chamber of Commerce of Argen na (CCGLAR) was founded in 2010 with the aim of strengthening es with businesses and organiza- ons for which diversity is a core value and to pro- mote respect and inclusion of LGBTIQ+ people in the workplace.
